Positions

Postdoctoral Fellows

Research projects in the areas of ALS biology, neural circuit and systems biology, neuropathology, and neurodegenerative disease pathophysiology are open. Applicants should hold a PhD in pathology, neuroscience, bioengineering, biomedical sciences, or related fields. Please email Dr. Kolarcik with a CV, statement of research interests, and contact information for three references.

Graduate Students

  • Prospective students: Please submit your application through the School of Engineering website. You can list the Cellular Molecular Systems Engineering as your track and specify interest in working with Dr. Kolarcik. You may also apply through the School of Medicine website which will allow you to rotate in our lab in the first year before deciding on which program to join.
  • ·Accepted students (University of Pittsburgh graduate programs): Please email Dr. Kolarcik to discuss a lab rotation and to discuss potential research projects.

Research Technicians/Assistants

  • We are seeking a research assistant/technician with expertise in molecular biology, cell culture, and/or in vivo mouse models.

Undergraduate Students

  • Please email Dr. Kolarcik with your CV or resume and a statement relaying why you would like to join the lab and what you hope to gain from this experience. There is an expectation of 10-15 hours/week as a time commitment for undergraduate research assistants. We have projects for a wide range of backgrounds.
